As a self diagnosed OCD Doodler, I’ve put way too much effort into researching and testing the best pens for Bullet Journaling. But luckily, now you don’t have to! Here’s what’s inside my overstuffed pencil case:

Black Pens

PIGMA MICRON Archival Ink Pens

I swear by the PIGMA MICRON Archival Ink pens for everything from outlines, notes, quick doodles, and quasi-calligraphy attempts. These are the only black ink pens I’ll use on the pages of my planner, since I’ve found that don’t bleed through thin bullet journal paper! They come in a variety of widths, but I usually use the 01, 03, and 05.

 

Colored Pens

Faber Castell PITT Artist Pens

If you’re looking for some bright colors to liven up your pages, these are perfect as they don’t bleed through at all! Faber Castell makes a variety of pen widths that come in pretty much every color imaginable. I prefer to use the S width, which draws clean, thin lines.

 

 

Copic Ciao Markers

If you’re looking for something a little more advanced, try Copic markers. These dual tip markers are great for seamless coloring in both large areas and small details. But, BEWARE – they do bleed through thinner pages! When it comes to doodling characters, Copic’s line of skin tones is unmatched. You can get the pack on Amazon here. They’re a little pricey… but worth the investment!
