Beginning your bullet journey but not sure where to start? Here are the 5 must-have supplies to get you going!
#1 – Dotted Journal
Unless you plan on keeping a ruler close by, you’re going to want a dotted notebook. I use Michael’s brand of Artist’s Loft, which is pretty cheap and available here.
#2 – Black Pens
Black pens are a staple of bullet journaling. You’ll want to make sure yours create thin, crisp lines that won’t bleed through your pages. Always make sure to protect your pages! I use PIGMA Micron Archival Ink pens, available here. They come in a variety of widths, but I usually stick with 01 and 03.
#3 – Colored Pencils and/or Markers
People tend to favor either markers or colored pencils for bringing some life to their pages. For me, it’s vivid markers all the way! You can view my complete guide on How-To: Pick Your Pens here.
#4 – Washi Tapes
If you don’t feel like spending hours on your pages, washi tapes are a great way to divide up sections and bring some color. These can get a little pricey if you start buying individual packs, so I’ve linked a basic, beginners collection on Amazon here.
#5 – Pencil Case
This may seem like a no-brainer, but pencil and pen cases are a staple of bullet journaling. You’ve just spent all this time and money researching, testing, and committing to your supplies – so why not keep them safe?
